The Golden Age is upon us, dear friends, a sweet synergy of East & West that showcases the tantalizing noir elegance of 1930s LA wedded gracefully to the extravagant ode to life that is modern day Bollywood - All the color & lights! All the decadence & glamour! All the song, the dance, & the drama!

The CONCEPT:

Let us celebrate the gorgeous tapestry of Bollywood, its roots cross woven with the rich traditions of its native India, as well as the cultural landmark that was the Golden Age of Hollywood! We'll find where these two diverse but intertwined styles meet, while encouraging everyone to live life outloud, break into song and dance, and become their favorite movie icon, whatever culture it hearkens from! A phabulous way to ring in the new year surrounded by posh environs and an amazing crew of folks!

The ATTIRE:

We are strongly encouraging our guests to get into the theme of either Bollywood garb or classic 1940's Hollywood Noir - something for everyone! If you feel more drawn to one artistic/cultural style over another, the choice is yours! Break out that full suit, flapper dress, or adorn yourself if a rich array of colors and patterns, the choice is yours!

The ENTERTAINMENT:

We’ll be bringing in the top Bollywood style performers in the Bay to keep you dancing & grooving all evening; expect live dance choreography plus top notch musicians and electronic producers performing into the wee hours of the morn througout three uniquely outfitted stage spaces! In addition, some of our favorite Bollywood films will be shown through the evening - feel free to dance along! In addition, our rooftop electro-Bhangra lineup will be complemented by high quality silent disco headphones by ZeroDB! New models blasting bass like never before! The AESTHETIC:

Come outfitted as your favorite Hollywood noir character or spice things up and come laden in colorful silks that span the rainbow – this far ranging palate will span the darkest of darks and brightest of hues. Keep it classy, keep it in costume, and be sure to be respectful of the culture from which we are drawing inspiration - there is a wide line between celebration and appropriation, let us make sure we stay on the right side of it.

The PHASHION SHOW:

We're adding a whole load of cream to the cake by bringing back the fan favorite Phashion Show this time around, curated by fabulous designer Petra O - expect local and eclectic designers ranging the gamut of style – and make sure y’all are Dressed To Impress, as we’ll be inviting our favorite-laden guests to strut the runway and show off their fabulous attire!

The SPACE:

The Convent is a 1936 nunnery that is currently home to a diverse group of 24 artists! We transform our gorgeous Chapel, complete with stained glass windows and altar, into a squished out tea lounge with live, intimate performances to keep you connected throughout the evening. Our 2k sq foot rooftop is where the silent disco, courtesy ZeroDB goes off, with an eclectic mix of murals and graff art collected over the past years, soaring views of San Francisco and plenty of space to dance the night away! Our sub-level is where the live music happens, with eccentric decoration and underground vibe, this is where you can get sweaty in a press of amazing folks and love up on life!

Note: A beautiful thing about spending the evening with us is that you can bring a personal amount of alcohol with you to the event, i.e. a bottle of champers, a flask, etc. Please, no handles, 30 racks or anything of that sort - its just not civilized :)
